Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is an Indian actress, singer-songwriter, and performer. She is mainly involved in Tamil as well as Malayalam films. Annayum Rasoolum was her Malayalam as well as Tamil debuts in acting. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in the Tamil Nadu region in an Anglo-Indian home. Andrea's father was a Madras High Court lawyer. Her younger sister works as an assistant researcher from Belgium who works in Leuven. Jeremiah was born close to Chennai, went to National Public School before graduating from Women's Christian College. Andrea started the classical piano at eight years old, was called being a "geek" and wanted to be a psychiatric until her board exam in 12th grade. At age 10 she was in a Jackson Five-style troupe called Young Stars which formed the base of her early musical and singing career. In her college, she was also an actor and appeared in stage plays organized through The Madras Players. Then she was the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea began her career in theatre with Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. She starred with Shiva as a leo coffee ad in 2006. The year 2006 was the time she starred in a TV show broadcast on Podhigai. She has performed throughout India. There was a brief appearance on the Kanda Mudhal final (2005). She sang in a song to Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The director asked her to join his lead female characters on Pachaikili Muthucharam. Andrea is Kalyani in the film that is a re-imagining of James Siegel's novel Derailed. The husband of the character is involved in a relationship with her and she's blackmailed. Andrea was picked to play the character after actresses Simran Shobana and Tabu were approached. The film was first released in 2010. It was first released as part of Venkat's Mankatha in 2011 in which she starred alongside a variety of actors. Annayum Rasoolum, a romantic film by Rajeev ravi released in 2013, was the actress's Malayalam debut.
